Flamingo Bay, Meerenbosch at a glance

Within the Middlevlei Nature Reserve & Bird Sanctuary, positioned between the Atlantic Ocean and Bot River Lagoon, lies idyllic Flamingo Bay. This security estate is framed by the Marine Nature Reserve, which comprises 360ha. Take in the surrounding natural beauty and incredible mountain views, or take a short stroll to an immaculate, long stretch of white sandy beach that leads all the way to nearby Kleinmond.

Nature and colourful sunsets await you! And, of course, many magnificent flamingos that flock here - as well as pelicans and a host of other birdlife. Wild horses gallivant and graze around here too; occasionally you'll see them splash in the waters of the lagoon.

The area not only brims with fauna and flora, but also offers unbelievable adventures and pastimes. From hiking and birdwatching, to windsurfing, fishing and sailing - the estate has a slipway for launching water vessels. Take a sunset sail around the lagoon with a cooler box for some sundowners. There are many activities both on the water and on land. In the estate, there is a clubhouse, tennis courts, a large swimming pool as well as a shallow pool for the kiddies, and a function room. The clubhouse has DSTV, a pool table, table tennis table, a tuck shop, and a bar.

Also fringing the Bot River Lagoon, and within easy access from Flamingo Bay, lies both Benguela Cove Wine Estate with its accoladed wines, and Arabella Golf Estate with its incredible luxury spa. Thus, Flamingo Bay is ideally located near luxurious amenities at a fraction of the cost.

Flamingo Bay is less than an hour away from Cape Town; and Hermanus with all her charms is only 20 minutes away. Here you'll find all the extra facilities and amenities you might need, and so much more. Hermanus is one of the best land-based whale watching hubs of the world, as well as being awarded by UNESCO as The Gastronomic Town of Africa in 2019, for the impressive culinary experiences that this town boasts. Hermanus also produces many award-winning wines - due to the incredible climate, the region is known for producing top Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.

As for other important amenities, Hermanus has a high quality Mediclinic private hospital; excellent schools such as Curro Hermanus Independent School, Hermanus Primary and Hermanus High School; a great public library; as well as immaculate sports clubs.

If you're looking for the ideal retreat to recharge in nature, as a home away from home, or a permanent residence to retire and enjoy a calmer pace of life, Flamingo Bay has the answer!
