The Glen is an area in Camps Bay stretching from Glen Beach up the mountain slopes roughly bordered by Strathmore Road at the bottom and Camps Bay Drive adjacent to Kloof Nek at the top. It nestles below Lions Head, next to Clifton and, because of its topography is one of the most sheltered parts of Camps Bay with an excellent micro climate. It is a lovely verdant green wooded area with architecturally diverse styles of homes built alongside the mountain reserve, from which the Glen gets its name.
Lord Charles Somersets hunting lodge, popularly known as the Round House, has recently been renovated and re-opened as a luxury eatery. It is situated in the Glen reserve, which is a relaxing area for walks and picnicking adjacent to the residential suburb.
Glen Beach is a lovely little bay favoured by surfers and dotted with beach bungalows, an enviable lifestyle for the privileged few who can afford it. Villas in the Glen often have views of Table Mountains cable car and Camps Bay beach, and land values continue to soar in this area.
The Glen and Glen Beach enjoy some of the most exclusive, luxurious rental properties with spectacular accommodation and uninterrupted views over the Atlantic.
