Randburg Property - Gauteng

Randburg is a predominantly residential area located in northern Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.

Randburg was developed as a garden city and has many parks and recreation areas. Every possible service and/or amenity is contained within Randburg’s borders thus enabling residents to avoid long journeys to access schools, green spaces, recreation, leisure and entertainment facilities or places of worship.

Randburg has an interesting history, recorded from the early 1800s when it consisted of four enormous farms in the aftermath of the Great Trek. These farms were subsequently sub-divided several times and eventually became the current suburbs of Randburg. During the 1930s and 1940s, and especially after World War II, more people arrived to settle in the Randburg area.

During the following 30 years, Randburg became an exceptionally attractive proposition and the eastern areas of Randburg were quickly seen as a good investment and developers and others were responsible for the rapid growth in this area, soon followed by development in the western areas of Randburg.

Randburg has its own unique ambience and in terms of being an enjoyable place in which to live and property appreciation, it remains one of the best places to buy residential property in Gauteng. The area has experienced a 25% compounded growth since 1980.

The suburbs of the region remain desirable for those who wish to live in an upmarket but affordable area. The physical conditions are excellent and are evident in good property maintenance, a sound structural infrastructure, good building control and well-maintained neighbourhoods. Economic factors such as high owner investment, confidence in future value, overall good South African property values and good resale values continue to contribute to the growth in the area.

Randburg always has been and continues to be an excellent property investment, especially for young families. There are plenty of good schools including private schools and several tertiary institutions as well as easy access to Monash, University of Johannesburg and Wits University.

Properties that are upgraded are in no danger of over capitalization as the suburbs are well established and upgrading adds value to these properties. In addition, strong residential and community associations add to the community feel of Randburg and ensure its ongoing success.

Randburg’s future will remain dynamic and a steady growth in the residential housing market is expected while business growth also continues to attract people. Randburg has a wide range of affordable purchase and rental options that include lifestyle villages and excellent retirement homes.

The award-winning Seeff franchise - Seeff Properties Randburg - is a well-established and highly reputable estate agency operating in the Randburg area. The franchise also has residential and commercial properties in the greater Randburg area, which includes suburbs such as Northcliff, Greenside, Emmarentia, Randpark Ridge, Weltevredenpark, Auckland Park, Melville and Westdene.
